Hi!
I'm reading two books right now, and I have one more to read after...but then, nothing. I have a small stack of books I'm considering, but I don't have a particular preference for which one I read next. Maybe the group can help me?
PICTURED: Flaming Iguanas by Erika Lopez, Villette by Charlotte Bronte, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, Nights Below Station Street by David Adams Richards, and The Call of the Wild by Jack London.

I would go for Lolita first, as an undisputed (and disturbing) classic. Good luck on making a selection!

I agree with wrmjr66 that Lolita would be a good choice, and it's a reasonable length. But I'd also like to put a word in for Villette, which I listened to in audio within the past year or so, and though it is LONG, it was *really* good. :)

I would agree with Lolita too. Its not a comfortable read, but its a classic and is certainly worth investigating.

Without question I would nudge Lolita. It really is an incredibly well-written book that draws the reader into the protagonist's world entirely, despite his disturbing nature.

Lolita is the only one out of your stack that I've read, and I would recommend it. Disturbing subject matter, but it's a classic that is definitely worth reading!

I read White Fang last year and loved it. It's a great insight into how a dog might think.

I agree with those who have nudged Lolita - exquisite! (And disturbing.)

My first impulse is to nudge towards Lolita, but Flaming Iguanas is way more fun. Read them in tandem. That would be an adventure!
