50 best cult books

As the new year approaches, I am increasingly beginning to daydream about the books I want to read in 2010 ;>

Seeing as how 50 books is potentially a manageable amount of books to read in 12 months I am very tempted to try to polish this list off...

I did finally make it all the way through the comments and there are some excellent suggestions scattered therein. The original list could be expanded to 100 fairly easily.

I don't have the patience to go through all the comments, but I'd add Johnny Got His Gun.
