What roleplaying games do you play? And by play, I mean, if given the chance, how would you spend your gaming hours (whether or not you actually have played recently)?

I play mostly 3.0/3.5 D&D, in the past I have played OD&D, 1e AD&D, and a little bit of 2e D&D. I like playing GURPS, but usually can't find enough players. I mix a little GURPS into my D&D from time to time.

I used to play Rolemaster, but haven't in years. I played a handful of sessions of one or the other of the White Wolf games, but didn't find it to my liking. I'd play Traveller (any version) in a heartbeat if given the chance.

We (my gaming group) play D&D 3.5 (though, originally, the game started in 2nd w/ a blend of 1st, then converted to 3.0, then to 3.5. When 4th ed. came out, we all said, "Nah").

I kind of miss good old 1st ed. sometimes! I've also enjoyed (d20) Call of Cthulhu and would like to play Deadlands and perhaps Seventh Sea. A friend of mine used to have a game-design company and has a Pirates game that is pretty good, too (he created it way back before the current crop of films) and I'd love to give that a whirl at some point. I like the White Wolf system and would like to give the Werewolf one a try sometime (I've only ever done Vampire, which was fine, but vampires are not so much my thing).

Obviously, time/money/enough players/etc. prohibit the playing of all of these, so the bi-weekly D&D 3.5 is it, for now.

2: That was pretty much the reaction to 4e that the gamers I know had as well, whether they were active in my current game or not. I sometimes wonder who WotC is selling 4e to (it must be somebody), because most of the people I have seen express an opinion have basically said "meh, not for me".

I have a couple games that I have never actually played. Some I'd like to give a try - I have Mutants and Masterminds, which looks cool, and really old copies of Dragonquest and Starmaster (from the early 1980s). I also have some games I have never played, and don't think I ever want to, like Fantasy Wargaming.

Most of what I play is D&D, both 3.0/3.5 and 4th ed (yes, there are gamers who like it; I happen to know a number of them). My main gaming group also plays quite a number of the White Wolf games; we actually just finished an 18 month long run in one campaign, and we'll be starting up a NWoD Mage game in six to eight weeks.

I have a few other systems in my possession--BESM, Serenity/Firefly, and the Mouse Guard game, but I haven't had a whole lot of chance to play with any of them. I'd like to try Riddle of Steel, but that one has pretty much disappeared, and again I don't know anyone who plays, nor do I have access to the books.

So I'll be sticking to a mix of D&D and White Wolf games, with freeform stuff thrown in from time to time, assuming I can get people to cooperate with me.

I play quite a variety of games. Currently online I play in a 4e campaign, but I've not found the system particularly satisfactory. The group and GM more than make up for it though.

In my real life group, we tend to alternate every so often. Each person basically takes a turn to run a game for 6-12 months. I myself, run Legend of the Five Rings. Another person runs Shadowrun, another runs Vampire: The Masquerade (though we may be playing Requiem next), another runs D&D Ebberon (3.5), another runs Iron Kingdoms, and another plans to run Mutants and Masterminds.

We've also played many others as one offs. I am sorta fortunate to be in a group that plays lots of different games.

I’m currently wrapping up a high fantasy game using the Feng Shui rules, and am plotting a Star Wars game using FATE v3 (as in Spirit of the Century).

I'm particularly fond of 3.0 -3.5 D&D. I would like to play 4.0 D&D. White Wolf is my other gaming passion. OWOD Vampire the Masquerade and Werewolf the Apocalypse, for the most part, though I have played other venues. I have played almost everything else waved under my nose including Ug. But I draw the line at Amber and HOL.

My group mostly plays DSA, the original German version of "The Dark Eye", and from time to time Shadowrun (4.01D) and Call of Cthulhu (as "Cthulhu" by Pegasus Press).

I'll be running Call of Cthulhu (original system, BRP rules!) for 2 players next week. One introduced me to the game in 1985 and the other, his wife, is a complete novice. When I introduce a new player, I'm always anxious to put on a good show.I'm feeling the pressure already.

I play in a club environment so get to play lots of different games.

I am currently playing SpaceMaster. I will be running Traveller soon and playing A Song of Ice And Fire RPG.

Mostly my own (published) sci-fi game, Tigres Volants (in French). But I also try to run some Feng Shui or Castle Falkenstein, a bit of Lady Blackbird and I'd love to play in a pulp setting, but my usual players are less interested in that.

D&D 3.5, 4, Star Wars, Rifts and not really role playing but Blood Bowl

*sigh* We used t have some Blood Bowl leagues back in college.

The Doctors of Pain with the Cheerleaders from Hell....

Had a (Oh I forget the name of the game. FASA did it. Roman Empire in Space) figurine of an Emperor in shades with a belt pack as my coach. Was kind of cool.

I don't have much time for ftf rpgs any more, but D&D3/3.5 is probably my favorite. I like the options to customize the characters, while sticking to a framework that is familiar (been gaming since 1980 - AD&D hardcovers). I have also played many games I enjoy and would join groups if I had time and there were any out there (in my area): Shadowrun, Ars Magica, Dark Ages Vampire, Amber, RuneQuest. Most of the email games I've been in switched to D&D4e and I tried, but couldn't get into it as much.

For me, it depends on the feeling I want to elicit. For a more gritty game, I tend to run GURPS. If I want cinematic, bigger than life, I tend to run one of the d20 family. I am looking forward to seeing where Traveller (Mongoose's flavor) runs in the spectrum.

World of Warcraft is my most favourite roleplaying game which I have played many times. Actually, I like many roleplaying games but this is my favtourite. Last time, I have played this game in may 2012.

Is WoW a table top now? As in not online? I didn't think it was...

#17

Been around since about 2005. Two years before that there was just the Warcraft RPG.

I have been playing:
1. Barbarians of Lemuria
2. Classic Traveller
3. Risus Anything RPG

I am looking around for something new. I kind of want a realistic medieval RPG. Maybe I'll just use GURPS.
I also play a lot of war-games. In Barbarians of Lemuria we use the De Bellis Simplicitus (simple DBA list) and a modified Hyborian army list to conduct mass-warfare; using the same map but alternating games each turn (thus there is a Barbarians of Lemuria phase where our individuals are fighting on a battlefield, and another turn where we are resolving command with units; we use cards instead of minis most of the time).

Right now it's Vampire the Masquerade and just finished making my character for my first D&D game.

I've had my first RPG experience with D&D some years ago. It was ok, but the group broke apart after some time. Now I'm playing Shadowrun with my folks, and I'm really hooked this time.

Primarily my gaming group uses BRP for everything...be it Call of Cthulhu or Historic Wild West.

After years it looks like I may finally be getting a DnD 4th Ed. group together. I've already rolled up a Doppleganger Bard to play.

I have been playing Aventuras en la Marca del Este on a regular basis for about a year and a half. It is a retro-clone of the first edition of DnD and we are enjoying it lot, we are truly invested in the development of our characters and their relationship as comrades.

I still play Call of Cthulhu from time to time and lately we are playing / beta-testing Numenéra the new game by Monte Cook.
