The fiction of reality

These are my reasons why I enjoy reading non-fiction books:

1. Learning: Non-fiction books cover a wide range of topics, from science and history to personal development and business. Reading non-fiction can provide valuable information and knowledge on a particular subject, which can be useful in both personal and professional life.

2. Insight: Non-fiction books can offer a unique perspective on the world, providing insight into different cultures, people, and ideas. Reading non-fiction can broaden your understanding of the world and help you see things from a different angle.

3. Inspiration: Non-fiction books can be a source of motivation and inspiration. They can provide real-life examples of people who have overcome challenges, achieved success, or made a positive impact on others.

4. Intellectual stimulation: Non-fiction books can be intellectually stimulating, challenging readers to think critically and engage with complex ideas. They can help improve analytical skills, and enhance the ability to make informed decisions.

5. Personal growth: Non-fiction books can also provide opportunities for personal growth and self-improvement. They can help readers develop new skills, overcome personal challenges, and work towards achieving their goals.

I don't like fiction books. I can find fiction reading reality in every morning papers

>1 AntonioGallo: I agree with what you say about the benefits, and joys, of non-fiction, However, I would say the same thing about fiction. It can also provide learning, insight, inspiration, stimulation and growth. When asked why she wrote a novel about residential school survivors rather than non-fiction, author Michelle Good said that it is sometimes easier to get at the truth, especially of emotions, with fiction.

So, obviously I enjoy both. I like my fiction to be realistic -- no supernatural characters or alternate realities. And I like my nonfiction to be written in an engaging style and tell a story.

I'm with >2 LynnB:. I went for about a decade (my late 20s/early 30s) where I didn't read fiction. When I came back to it, I realized I had been cheating myself out of valuable knowledge that was highly relevant to the "real" world of my life.

However, I like supernatural and fantastic fiction as well as stories of the mundane. And "hard" sf too.

In Act 1 Scene 5 of Shakespeare’s play, Hamlet, Hamlet says to his friend: “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” A proper example of "the fiction of reality".Reality and fiction are distinct concepts, but they can be intertwined in various ways.
