User Genres / Theatre added as a genre

It would be really good if users could add their own genres or the list could be expanded? There is currently no Theatre listed which would be handy for plays / reference books. As I work in Theatre, this is where most of my books come from.

>1 mattgtba: I dont have many books in that genre; but, I would wonder if other individuals would call such works by variations of that title.

I try to ignore the genre imperfections - i dont know if everyone would agree about them.

you could file them by tag or collection, too.

I'd recommend reading through all three threads regarding the Genrething feature and realize that what you have is what you have.

I use the tags "Plays" for scripts, and "Theatre" for book about theatre.

I was surprised plays are not among genres, was convinced it was there just as poetry. Either way, I also use tags for all genres I want differentiated, the list of official ones will always be incomplete for someone's use case, but it doesn't hurt to propose new ones. Philosophy was implemented quite some time after the initial ones, so there's hope for additional ones at some point in the future.

I doubt user-added genres will happen since each one requires an algorithm for automatically assigning them.

>4 lilithcat: yes. i think i have a tag for plays or drama or something. i dont have much in that category. but then, for teachers of drama, theatre, etc- I'm sure there are multiple category options/ divisions
