because this page is growing bigger and bigger https://www.librarything.com/author/steinerrudolf-1,
and dividing /separations to "1" make not really sense anymore -> my question i want to ask - would it be ok to keep it as main page as with "Karl Marx" https://www.librarything.com/author/marxkarl , and note the 2 different entries / persons there?

No. If there is more that one author, the page needs to be split.
I do not know who saved Karl Marx as a single author, but it should not have been done. There is now no way to tell which Karl Marx wrote which books. That page should be split again.
