I want to be able to be in a store, scan an ISBN w/ my phone, and know if I already have it or not.
Others have asked for the "Inventory" feature to be added to the app.
I'd be thrilled if "Search Your Catalog" had a barcode button like "Add to catalog" does.
Or, change the latter so that when you scan a book you already have, it pops up a warning instead of blindly adding a duplicate.

I agree. I've only just gotten the app on my phone but I am concerned that if I scan a book at a sale it will be added to my inventory.
I guess I could make a 'collection' called "sale check" or something so I could go back later and delete the books I didn't buy.
I am aware that we can delete duplicates but doing that easily means waiting until one is home and on the computer.
The "Search Your Catalog" option suggested by boling1 above is a nice idea.

If it's comparing ISBNs, be aware that that would alert you only if you have the same edition.

I agree that it would be nice to have a "scan to check for ownership" function. I can work around it, but this is one of my main reasons for my account. The question, "Did I already buy this?" comes up frequently. I am trying to get through that to-read-pile, but despite my best efforts, I still buy books faster than I read them.

Me too: https://www.librarything.com/topic/205144#5806789 in 2016 and https://www.librarything.com/topic/287335 in 2018. (I find it amusing that in 2018 I referred to my post from 2016 as "long ago".)
