Make Notification settings more obvious

The new notifications for new recommendations seem to be annoying some people, and most people seem to be unaware that you can turn off that setting.

Currently if you click the messages/notifications button it says:

Notifications >
You have no new messages.
You have ### new recommendations.

I'd propose adding another item at the bottom that says:

Notification settings >

to direct people to where they can turn off (or on, I suppose) notifications.

Funny you should mention because the first design for the menu had a "settings" cog button that took you to the settings page.

I'm trying out another iteration of the UI now. Let me know if you liked the original or the new two-button form better.

One thing: can we move the History button down on the Notifications line (or rename it to Notifications History or something? It looks like it will get you the history of ALL notifications and messages and not just the recommendations ones.

Notifications for when someone posts in a topic you started wouldn't be a better use for Notifications?
As it is it's mostly useless for me: I very rarely get new messages and I'm not interested in browsing hundreds of new recommendations every time (I'm sure they're spot on, but it's just too much... I already have tons of books to read at home :-)).

>8 AnnieMod: It will give you the history of all Notifications. It just so happens that we've really only had Recs notifications so far. Messages is a different beast and just kind of jammed in that menu because it was originally there in the UI and we didn't want to change too much.

>9 Moloch: Those things are coming. We have about 20 things that are possible notification triggers at this point. But Recs is the only thing so far. You'll see other notifications soon enough.

Ok, thanks

>10 conceptDawg: OK but the way the UI is structured, with messages under the big Notifications label, it looks as it will give you the history for all things listed under it - you get a notification for a message in the same space after all.

I understand the difference and I can see how there isn't much space to do much there but it looked out of place so I mentioned it.
