Martian Chronicles HP

Does anyone know what the difference between the red cloth bound vs blue cloth bound HP Martian Chronicles is? Amazon seller sent me an HP even though they had confirmed it's an LEC. I don't feel too bad about it since it was $24 including shipping.

The blue cloth (with the white speckles) was the first HP edition. The red cloth was the later reprint.

>1 Iggybedora: You can return it. I've also noticed that many amazon sellers (some scammers) purposely try to hide what they really sell. I almost never purchase from amazon - that said, there are of course legit sellers on there. Also, it seems like current prices are around $300 for the LEC Martian Chronicles - even at that price I would say it's easily worth it and still undervalued. One of the most desirable LECs.

>4 Iggybedora: They probably do not think most people will go to the trouble of returning the book. That is one reason I almost always return anything that is not right. I say almost because sometimes the mistake is in the buyers favor, but not often.

I've drooled over the LEC version but never realized there was a HP version! It's much more inline with my budget, thanks!

>6 ExLibrisDavid: I have learned the blue HP version is much better quality so I would try to get that. There are several sellers on Amazon but you will need to request pictures. It was very easy to return just fyi--all I had to do was drop off at UPS or WholeFoods

Prices have gone up a lot in recent years. BUT, still easily worth it and in my mind still underpriced

With the ML, no less! I’m amazed at the near-200 USD difference between that and the LEC Brave New World that sold at the same time, as unpopular as that edition is.
