I don't know if I am missing something but I can't see the publisher information on books I don't own. I am interested in other books and would like know publisher so I can possibly purchase them somewhere.

>1 thingvol: LibraryThing does not have an edition level so there is no real place to have the publishers shown. Under the work are all editions (various publishers, languages and so on) with everyone’s data being their own. In addition we do not have a Publisher field (in most cases it is added to the Publication field) so statistics are almost impossible.
The best thing you can get is to go to the Members tab/page under the work and then look at the libraries of the people who own the book and do not have a private library (the publisher will be somewhere in the record unless the user decides not to record it). That can be very tedious for popular works.
