Does anyone in this group have a copy of this newsletter, or of the accompanying short notice that LEC generally sent to their subscribers? I'm interested in information about the paper used, the typeface (I think it's the same as the 1909 Clarendon Press edition), and the woodcut illustration process.

>1 Eumnestes:
The Bibliography has some of this information: the typeface is monotype Garamond, and the paper William Nash rag. Beyond the bare data that the wood-engravings are by Agnes Miller Parker and the pen decorations by John Austen there is no further information about the illustration process.

>2 affle: Thanks so much; I appreciate it. Does the bibliography say anything about the font size? It seems huge, maybe 17 point.

>3 Eumnestes: Close. It's 16 pt.
John Austen started the illustrations before WWII, but the project was interrupted by that war and it lay uncompleted until Macy started the project again in 1949 and got Agnes Miller Parker to finish illustrating the book.
I don't have the ML, but I do have access to the forum online Google Drive folder. Ask Ironjaw for access.
