I am slow off the starting block this year. Not enough reading time. I will be back soon with my plans for the New Year of reading and my ticker.
2HelenBaker
So a frustrating start. I attempted to make my new ticker and as soon as I opened the site, it started flashing again.
3HelenBaker
I commence the year with 389 books and e-books to read. I am contemplating an alphabet challenge, a crime book and a New Zealand author each month to help me move some books from unread to read. My goal again will stay at 48 as it is manageable for me and will hopefully allow me to read library books as well.

Happy New Year and good luck with your ROOTs!

Dropping in to say hi and I'm glad to see you again this year. I'm sorry you have the trouble with the ticker you do, I have trouble once in while but not to the extent you do. I hope technical magic happens and that frustration goes away!

>15 HelenBaker: What did you do, Helen? Perhaps KWharton will get it to work with your tips!

>16 connie53: I accidentally accessed the scrapbooking ticker rather than the object counter and it allowed me to create one. The object counter still starts flashing when I try to make a ticker. It is interesting that we are both based in New Zealand and having problems.

Helen, I have no idea if it will work for you or not, but I have found that if I have Ticker Factory open in one tab and then open it in another tab as well, it stops the flashing.
22HelenBaker
>21 KWharton: Ok that's interesting thanks. I will try it, although the scrapbooking ticker is working ok for me.
23HelenBaker
>21 KWharton: So today my new ticker started flashing so I did what you suggested and was able to adjust my numbers on the second ticker. Thanks for that.

Hi Helen. Just popping in to see what you have been reading since my last visit. Nice job done there.
26HelenBaker
>25 connie53: Hi Connie. Thanks for stopping by. I have been totally led astray by Library books this month. Not one of my own books have I read. This is a first for me, so I must re-apply myself to my goal as I am now very behind. Also have read several crime fiction so time for something a bit more soothing, I think.

>28 HelenBaker: Same here. I loved her The dictionary of lost words a lot. So I will keep an eye out for this new book. Here it will be published in July and that is the English version. I hope they will translate it some time soon.
Hi Helen, catching up on threads slowly. It's quit a job to do. But I will get there. How are you doing? I hope and wish everything is fine with you and yours.

>30 connie53: Hi Connie, I, too, have been largely absent of late. I am being distracted by jigsaw puzzles which I work on most evenings before bed and have joined a patchwork quilting group which meets weekly and now has me patchworking several afternoons a week, using up some of my large quantities of leftover scrap materials from years of sewing, but not recently.
We have also been exposed to Covid again. My two little grandsons came home from daycare with it and it spread to their Mum and Dad and then my husband Don. He is just out of isolation and I have managed to avoid it this time but it has all provided a lot of distraction from keeping up to date with my book recording.

Hi Helen, so sorry to hear about the Covid cases again. By now it must be all over again for you and the family.
The link for your book by Noelle McCarthy takes me to a different book than you meant to refer to.

>34 connie53: Thanks Connie, I have now corrected the link. Hope you and Peet are well. I am only getting to use the computer once a week these days as I have a retired husband who spends whole days on it. Frustrating, but I have plenty of other activities to keep me busy.

>35 HelenBaker: That's really frustrating. Luckily both Peet and I had our own laptops and since Peet has moved to the care centre I have both (and some old ones in the attic). But I only need one.
Peet is doing okay, not great though. He is very tired all the time, while doing nothing but laying on his bed watching silent tv. I guess he has given up on live, which I can understand, but it's hard to see.
Luckily I have the kids, grandkids and my brother and sisters to do nice things with.
