Still in Deverry, now in the final stretch of this quartet at A time of justice.

Added The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, September-October 2022 to my rotation. This is going to be a slow read for when I burn out on reading.

Finished The Law by Jim Butcher. Typical Harry Dresden. Liked it.
6varielle
I’m back in Westeros with Fire and Blood.
7Zambaco
Back in the Old Kingdom with Terciel and Elinor.

I finally decided to try the Thieves World stories & bought an omnibus edition of the 1st three anthologies, Sanctuary. I just read the first book, Thieves World. Thin, but readable. I'll continue on to at least the 2nd book, but unless they improve I doubt I'll go further. I know they were groundsetting in terms of shared world fiction, but the actual stories strike me as forgettable.

Just finished Tune in tomorrow, which has a much longer title than that, by Randee Dawn. It's about a "reality" show/soap opera featuring mortals that airs for mythic folks. Reminds me a little of the movie Soap, except the showrunner and many of the non-actors are various kinds of mythical creatures. Includes a fan convention and an awards show.

Spent some time in the twin cities with Vampire the Masquerade: Winter's Teeth before moving on south with Gunmetal Magic. Had fun with both. I'm enjoying this urban fantasy kick I'm on.
11Sakerfalcon
I'm on the ark of Babel enduring The storm of echoes.
12Narilka
I'm back to Scadrial for Mistborn Secret History. Getting prepped for the new release :D

Just finished the new graphic novel The Night Eaters: She eats the night by Marjorie M. Liu and Sana Takeda. So good.
It's horror, with tentacles and blood and spookiness and mystery, but it's not as grim as the Monstress books. And parts of it are quite funny, as it's about the American kids of two immigrants from Hong Kong, with a family restaurant (Spam I Am!), apparently in 2021 (during COVID but after restaurants are opening).

I'm all over the place with N.K. Jemisin, in her short story collection How long 'til black future month?

Spending time in quite a mash-up of fantasy-of-manners/alt-history/faerie(?) worldbuilding in Cold Magic.
It took me a while to warm up (cough) to this book... the early part that felt like it was going to be straight-up fantasy-of-manners didn't quite appeal to me (though I'm usually a big fan of that subgenre) but once the inciting event occurred to kick things into a different direction, I've been increasingly engaged.

I'm heading back to Scadrial for The Lost Metal.

Just finished A Game of Thrones and loved it! I'm excited to jump into A Clash of Kings but am also interested in starting Sword of Destiny from the Witcher series.

19Niko
In a very meta-universe inside an author's head with Or What You Will.
20curioussquared
I'm in Riverside in Swordspoint.
21karenb
Just spent time in 1925 Washington D.C. with Clara Johnson, a Black woman who killed a policeman in self-defense during the 1919 race riots. She can see spirits, and she helps other people deal with them, in The monsters we defy.
22drmamm
Finished The Two Towers. On to The Return of the King to finish my LoTR re-read.
23Narilka
I'm off to Hogwarts for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
24karenb
I'm reading about healers and magic in The bruising of Qilwa. Short novel and good.
25ScarletBea
I'm now in Redwall abbey, doing a re-read of Brian Jacques' books.

>25 ScarletBea:, going through those with my son, we're up to the end of the fourth.
>27 nx74defiant:, one of my favourites. Ende's Momo is also very good.

29Niko
Back in the desert surroundings of Sharakhai in A Veil of Spears.
31Anaxyrus
Visiting Atlantis and Rhodes with Colossus Rises. It's ok enough to finish, but I probably won't pick up the rest of the series.
