On the Shortness of Life by Seneca; profound philosophical meditations
A fine press edition of this seminal stoic work has not yet been published. Its moderate length (~50 pages) makes it a practical choice, as does its lack of copyright. It is time Seneca’s insights are given a fine press treatment as a tonic for the age of social media/pandemic, as we struggle for meaning in the modern world.
“Everyone hustles his life along, and is troubled by a longing for the future and weariness of the present. But the man who … organizes every day as though it were his last, neither longs for nor fears the next day”
