Teens Talk About Anything (Sep 2022 - October 2022)

Viesti ryhmäsi ylläpitäjältäHi, all. I haven't been feeling well—or to be honest, more unwell than usual. I haven't been keeping up here. So keep in mind I might have misunderstood some public and private messages.

What I think is happened is that I've been too lenient allowing these general chat threads.

It's not only the calls for violence (100% unacceptable!) and the disrespect (with thoughtless posts) that have been problems. The creation of the threads was a problem in its own.

Here's why. The LT team, which is the small group of people including the owner who's running this site, wants all groups to follow the site rules. That means no off-topic threads created. That means this thread should include (polite!) talk about anime, manga, or related things. So should the Morse code chats and every other thread created in the Manga and Anime Addicts group.

Doesn't sound fair? Please remember that this site was not designed as a general teen hangout. It's being repurposed by some members in this group as one, and that's not fair to the LT team or any regular members who maintain this book site for what it's meant to be. (It isn't fair to me. But I was willing to accept that if it helped people in need. I'm now questioning how my lax attitude might have caused harm.)

Anyway, I've been reminded that site members who do not follow the TOS may be suspended. Some members of this group might already have received warnings privately.

What's expected of you as a LibraryThing member:
• Discuss the topic of whatever (Talk-based) group you're in.
• Use only one account per person for Talk or Messages if you're not cataloging books.
• Remember kindness.

I need to rest up, but I'll be back to copy parts of this post in other threads to make sure everyone gets the gist.
