Where Are the Other Reviews?

This may be a dumb question, but...

I've been reviewing LTER books for a couple of years now, and faithfully posting my reviews on the "Reviews" site. And I'm wondering why I never see any other LTER reviews for the titles I've posted. I see plenty of reviews for other titles, and my own reviews show up, but... are review copies for LTER folks limited to one reader per title?

Just curious.

>1 LyndaInOregon:

If by the "Reviews" site you mean the "Reviews of Early Reviewers Books" group, it's likely because most people don't bother posting there. I know I don't.

For example Running Together has lots of ER reviews.

There is no requirement to also post in https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/8506/Reviews-of-Early-Reviewers-Books, and most people don't.

The only reason to post there would be if discussions developed, but it doesn't seem to be happening. I'm not in ER now, mostly because I wasn't enjoying the books I got. I certainly had no interest in discussing them.

BTW, if people are going to post there, why aren't they using touchstones and abouts? Then at least there would be links from there to the work pages, and from the work pages to any discussions that might develop.

Seriously? I thought we had to post there in addition to on the book page in order to get credit for the review. What am I missing here?

Nope, just on the book page.

>7 lilithcat: Good to know. It's not really any more "work", since I just cut & paste, but the duplication definitely takes up more bandwidth for LT.

>1 LyndaInOregon: Not a dumb question at all.

Many of the others have answered above, to the effect that most ER participants don't use the "Reviews of Early Reviewers Books" group. To be clear: you are not required by any LT or ER policy to post your review there. Only on the book's work page. I am very sorry if we were unclear about this, some time in the past.

When I took over from my predecessor, Meg, she said that the group was a member project, allowing ER participants to share reviews with one another, in order to provoke discussion. Unfortunately, as MarthaJeanne observes, it hasn't really happened.

>2 lilithcat: I didn't even know there was such a group (until now)! I'm not opposed to posting there... I would just have to remember to. :-) I have joined the group, so I might remember in future.
