The Forthcoming: Spring 2023 list has been posted on LOA's main page:
https://www.loa.org/news-and-views/1965-forthcoming-spring-2023.

This is the shortest half-year list we've seen for a long time--four main series volumes (Updike novels, Malamud novels, Le Guin collected poetry, and Charles Portis novels), and two special publications by Nancy Hale (a paperback version of her selected stories--the hardback was published by LOA in 2019--and her novel "The Prodigal Women").

Oddly, there is a missing volume in the main series. The four listed are numbers 365, 367, 368, and 369. Evidently number 366, whatever it is, was planned but is taking longer than expected to prepare for publication.

Glad to see another Le Guin volume at long last! I was beginning to wonder.

The writeup on LeGuin's poetry says it is the fifth volume in LOA's edition of her works. It is actually the sixth volume. I know; nitpicking.

Euphorb: Regarding the list being so short. Perhaps that is due to the ongoing problems of scheduling time with printers. A fairly recent post from the guys at Subterranean Press -- made because one of their _really_ fancy editions was delayed (because of damaged spines) -- explained how they had had to change printers _twice_ in the recent year or so. The printer they were originally using "got tired" of them complaining about messy spines, or other problems with books (the fact that a good job should be done no matter what didn't seem to matter; but that they are a small press which deals in high end/sometimes high cost books should have made a difference -- it didn't). They told Subterranean to take a hike. Apparently, it's no longer a buyer's market where printers and publishers are concerned -- it's a sellers market, with printers able to turn publishers away (add that to the ongoing problem of paper material often being used for making shipping boxes first, and its easy to see why publishing schedules will continue to get disrupted -- unless you are Stephen King, JK Rowling or George Martin, etc.). Since LOA had to revise their publication schedule a couple of times this past year, perhaps they are being more cautious about such schedules, now.

#366 is the Black Writers of the Founding Era volume discussed in this Story of the Week post (https://storyoftheweek.loa.org/2020/07/the-natural-right-of-all-men-their.html). It has been delayed both because textual research remains difficult due to staff shortages and closings at most libraries and research institutions and because of the paper/printing shortages mentioned. It is now taking six to ten months to get books printed. (We have reprints sent to press last August that are still at press!)

>8 DCloyceSmith: Thanks for the information. That Story of the Week was put out more than a year and a half ago. My memory isn't that good. It is too bad about the delay, but it is much better to do the job right than to do it fast.
