Happy Lunar New Year! What 1001 books are you starting the year of the tiger with?

On audio I'm listening to Effie Briest and on paper I'm reading Anniversaries with the year-long group read. Both of them are quite good, but I'm getting confused sometimes because both plots involve a very young German woman who marries, perhaps ill-advisedly, an older man who has different ideas about their future. I'm going to take a break from the year-long read while I finish the audio book, and read something non-German and with a different plotline. Possibly Cost, since nobody else here wants to do a group read of it (and I understand why!).

I'm finishing Doctor Zhivago which was meant to be a January read. Then have Anna Karenina and The Sea, The Sea for book clubs this month.

I'm still plucking along with Aesop's Fables and waiting to see what will be picked for the group read. I also have Through the Looking Glass lined up even though it probably won't be chosen.

My 300th read will be Passage to India. I just started it but I think I will like it better than Burmese Days although there are some similarities.

I've finally finished Home by Marilynne Robinson. It was a bit dense and heavy to read although I definitely appreciate the intimate setting she created.
