I've read Five Little Indians and Washington Black. Driven is on the TBR shelves.

What have you read? Any early predictions of the winner? If I had to guess now, I'd say Five Little Indians, but it's a stab in the dark as I've read so few of them this year.

Are you going to read any/all of the finalists before the debate? I am....that way I can yell at the radio like my dad used to do during NHL games.

I've read Five Little Indians, Washington Black and What Strange Paradise so far - all were good in different ways. I have a few more on hold so we'll see. Can't wait!

I've read Washington Black and Five Little Indians so far. I really enjoyed both of the books. They are both such different books,it's hard to compare the two. I picked up We Two Alone from the library today, but it's hard to say if I will actually read it. I have not been doing much reading lately - not the fault of the book. I'll have to look into a few others. The Spoon Stealer interests me too. I'll have to check my library for that one too.

Once again, ive not read any of them. I will listen to the debates before deciding which to add to my tbr.

I read The Spoon Stealer. I enjoyed as a light, easy read, but I don't think it should be Canada Reads finalist, which it is not. I enjoyed it but I found it a bit overlong and perhaps a bit too preachy towards the end. It's a chatty, easy read about a woman in her 70's from a dysfunctional family. I'm glad to have made the acquaintance of the author and will look for more books by Lesley Crewe if I am in the mood for a light, chatty read. It won't be for everyone though.
