Since the Reviews tab changed to a single-column format, I find I basically never look at it anymore, because the excessively long lines make it a pain to read unless I fiddle with the browser window width.
Could we have the two-column layout back, at least as an option on wider screens?

Agreed. I haven't looked at reviews in months. Not since the change.

Yes, please! I find it horribly difficult to read the reviews now, and, like AndreasJ and Bookmarque, don't look at them anymore because of that.

I'll join the chorus.

I like the one-column layout (and up the font size a bit and fiddle with the browser window width). And use the "show all" option to catch rendering goofs.

I haven't looked at this feature before. It appears that you are referring to https://www.librarything.com/home#reviews/ in the section called Reviews for Your Books. Is that correct?
It might be possible to apply some CSS that would appear on the URL with that pattern using a browser plugin like Stylus (replacement for the insecure Stylish).

Äänestys: On wide screens, I'd prefer two columns
Äänet tällä hetkellä: Kyllä 32, Ei 3, Epävarma 2

Ah, hadn't noticed that before. The long lines are ridiculous. Please fix.

This was brought up when the Reviews page was first moved to LT2 - it's part of the mobile-first approach, apparently - and at the time conceptDawg mentioned something about having a cutoff for wider screens, but nothing came of it.

Yeah, it's better on my phone, where I rarely bother to look at it. But I used to go to my reviews page regularly on my desktop, and now I never do.

From a CSS perspective, there is a <div> with an id property called mainreviews. I found that if I used Stylus for this page URL type with a value of:
That I could get something that is easier to read. A smaller percentage (or a fixed pixel width) might be a starting point to get content in two columns. However, it is a problem that there are not two <div> containers. There might be some trick to get this to work that would require some more CSS research.

#mainreviews { width: 50%; }

Bumping this -
I haven't been looking at reviews much because of this issue, but did today, and was reminded of why this really matters.
It's extremely difficult to read reviews that are stretched out the entire width of the screen.
Please revert to the two-column view.
Thank you.

The single column is definitely better on my phone, but it blows on my monitor. Maybe there could be a third tab at the top: My reviews / From my library / Both (old style)

Yes, the ability to make a choice would be helpful. I don't use my phone or tablet to look at reviews (although I just looked at my tablet, and it's not so bad there).
I do think this is another example of how optimizing a view for phones/tablets often makes the experience worse for those using computers.

If we can’t have the two-column design back, can we at least have a limit to the width of the single column?
The rest of LT (or at least those bits I use) work well on a moderately wide screen, so I don’t see why this page couldn’t.

I hope for LT 2.0
I think that with responsive web design you have the possibility to define the minimum or maximum width of a column. If the width of the respective screen exceeds or falls short, the number of columns is wrapped to the optimal number.
