I hope this celebrative note doesn't read too much like an ad, but WP has just published another volume to the extravagant canon: Potsdamer Platz, or The Nights of the New Messiah Ecstatic Visions. I have not read it yet, but erotic anarchy and salvation through orgasm are always catchy themes (here, at any rate). In another installment to the collected writings of Jean Ray, Malpertuis appears to be the next addition to their catalog (bringing the Atlas translation back into print). As I mentioned elsewhere, more of Gabrielle Wittkop forthcoming as well.

Also, from Twisted Spoon Press, at long last, another volume fron Ladislav Klima: A Post-Mortem Dream.

Rixdorf Editions, focusing on German literature from the early 20th century, has an impressive catalog as well. The next volume awaiting publication, Papa Hamlet, was described by a contemporary reviewer as "nothing but filth, misery, squalor". Obviously, it will have a place in my heart and my home.

Thanks for mentioning the latter two, wasn't aware of either. The Wakefield Press catalogue always makes me feel slightly nauseated due to a choking, anxious desire to own, devour and be bathed in all their publications all at once. (I hope that doesn't read too much like an ad.)

>2 anjenue: I concur! We must buy everything to keep them, and all others afloat!

Rixdorf are certainly worth supporting.

The publisher is also behind the wonderful 'Strange Flowers' blog:

essential reading/following for everyone here (IMHO obs, and other such messings with letters/language) and really knows his stuff re the obscure byways of literature.

I recently commented on Rixdorfs 'Death' by Anna Croissant-Rust via my 'Goodreads' page. It's one of only three five star books I've read this year. That's IMHO (If My Humble Opinion) counts for anything at all, er...obs...

The Tough Poets Press is publishing some new fiction (The complete short fiction of Alexander Theroux , for example), but mainly resurrecting long forgotten, out of print genre titles:

Interesting stuff. I've never sent copies of my POD self-published books to the Copyright Office. I guess I would if they demanded it of me directly, but I'm not going to go out of my way to find entities that think I owe them a book.

There is a pecuniary hardship exemption for mandatory deposit. Presumably Valancourt had already applied for that and been rejected (?)

It seems the Library of Congress isn't quite ready to convert to ebooks yet...

I’m familiar with the Valancourt case. The Library of Congress told Valancourt that it would accept ebooks. Valancourt turned them down.

Rixdorf is closing down at the end of the year, and have listed their remaining titles at 5 euro each, if of interest.

I've said on this very thread that Rixdorf produce great stuff and although its sad to see that project finish, the books are now an absolute steal at 5 Euros a pop!
