It's been decades since I read the original Midkemia books, but I never quite got around to continuing into this series.

I'm traveling about with Diana Bishop in the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness; just finishing the second book and about to dive right into the third!

I got the new Joe Lansdale novel, Moon Lake, which is a mystery, not F/SF but so far a great read.

I'm at the Scholomance in The Last Graduate after being assigned it for potential Shelf Awareness review gave me an excuse to read A Deadly Education over the weekend instead of one of the books that had been higher priority until that happened.

I'm still in Vancouver with Trickster Drift, but I'm simultaneously taking a trip into the Devil's West, with Silver on the Road.

I've just finished traveling around an alternate-1980s-England with The Left-Handed Booksellers of London.

I'm in an alternate 1899 England in The Peculiarities.

On a fairy-tale-ish journey, crossing the "Montagnes du Monde" with two girls bonding over their travels in Half-Witch.

I'm taking a final trip to the Enchanted Forest and Talking to Dragons.

Time to find out how Magic Triumphs in Atlanta.

>14 Narilka: How are you enjoying the Enchanted Forest series? It was a favorite series of mine when I was younger, but I haven't reread any of the books in 10+ years.

I enjoyed my time in the Devil's West, but I am stopping my read of the series with Silver on the Road. The historical details were fun, but there wasn't quite enough story there.

Inspired by the group dragon thread, I've started traveling to Elyria with Song of the Beast.

I am on my umpteen-billionth reread of LOTR -- I have no idea how many times since 1959 when my aunt gave me the trilogy for my 11th birthday (not 111th :-) )complete with dramatic reading of the Ring poem (she had been an actress). It's comfort reading for me in hard times. I'm just finishing Fellowship.

Dusty, definitely read Interview with the Vampire; it's really good. But I wouldn't bother with the sequels -- or certainly not after the first one or two.

Currently in 17th century France (with dragons) for The Cardinal's Blades.

I am on the island of Marsyas where I've just discovered The house in the Cerulean Sea.

I'm in eager anticipation of Kristine Kathryn Rusch's new additions to her long neglected Fey series of books. A new novella is expected in just a few months.

Currently reading Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier, a retelling of of the Twelve Dancing Princesses fairy tale. Suggested by a fellow LT member. Liking it so far.

I'm in Qazal, in C.L. Clark's The unbroken

I finished Trickster Drift but I am still in Canada with Return of the Trickster. This series is really one long story in three books, but I'm enjoying it a lot. My favorite part of Trickster Drift was its irreverent yet compelling depiction of ghosts, including one who becomes Jared's physics tutor. It can be hard to write scenes where a bunch of characters are interacting and only half of them can see the ghosts in the room, and I thought that feat was very well accomplished.

I've just left Norgate fief in Araluen where Will (who was the Ranger's Apprentice) has just survived The Siege of Macindaw.

I'm laughing my way through The Disposable by Katherine Vick again before the sequel (The Merry Band) comes out next week! The Disposable is currently free on Kindle! :)

Starting the "Season" in Regency England with Half a Soul.

>28 Niko: Ooh, I have that right in front of me on my desk, but I'm not ready to get to it yet. I'm currently in Ireland at the time of the high kings, with the Daughter of the Forest which looks like it's going to be a retelling of the Six Swans.

>29 humouress: It is, and I love it! If a folktale/fairy tale involves a trial, it's difficult to communicate the difficulties and sacrifices involved, and that novel manages it very well. It's on par with Deerskin in my mind. It continues into a series, but there are diminishing returns and none of the later books are retellings, so it's a reasonable option to treat it as a standalone. The original trilogy isn't bad per se, but none of the others capture the feel of that first one.

I am solving riddles with Jemis Greenwing and his friends in Bee Sting Cake.

But it's probably my favorite book in the series, while the first book was my least favorite. For reference, I rated Bee Sting Cake 4.5stars, and Stargazy Pie 3.5stars; I gave the rest of the series 4stars...
