TinyCat with cloudLibrary?

We're using TinyCat as temporary solution for the tiny library in our research centre - but we got used to & quite fond of it. As we are planning to use an app for the lending process (cloudLibrary): does anybody know if TinyCat works with it, respectively if there is a SIP2 interface?

Curious regards! * Christiane

Hi Christiane. TinyCat doesn't have any APIs, such as for lending apps/etc. That said, since TinyCat is mobile-friendly, the idea is that you can simply use TinyCat on your mobile device to check things in/out. The only limitation on mobile devices—which we hope to look into in the future—is mobile scanning which TinyCat doesn't yet have. I would love for us to be able to have mobile scanning built into TinyCat, which would make it a little quicker as far as scanning books in/out on mobile. I hope this helps.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

Kristi

Many thanks!! Oh yes, mobile scanning would be really great - is it something we can look forward to this year?

We don't have a current timeline on this, so I can't make any promises, unfortunately. We have a small team of developers and we're currently plugging away at our major site redesign for LibraryThing (a project known as "LT2"), which is also going to really help TinyCat in the long run. That's taking more time than expected amongst the regular operation of LibraryThing, TinyCat, and LibraryThing for Libraries. We've also been doing some major server work to make the site much faster overall. We'll be sure to announce any changes on the mobile scanning front! Thanks for your patience on this.

...that sounds so great - thank you all for making LibraryThing such a splendid tool!! I really love using it, the attitude of the site (and its members) is really amazing: so fairly astute and dedicated. Again: many, many thanks!
