Gollancz has celebrated 60 yrs of SF&F publishing with a day of readings, panels and cheap books on YouTube and Amazon.

>1 SChant: Been picking up books as they drop to 99p.
Please note: it's a UK-only deal. As most of the titles are in the Masterworks series, they're not available in the US.
Wider Gollancz price-drops are here:

I have two wounds from this devious BB attack.
The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix, and Purgatory Mount by Adam Roberts.

>3 pgmcc: The Garth Nix was a monthly deal earlier this year, and I thought it OK, although it seemed a bit disjointed to start.
I got both the Adam Roberts - On was the other one. It's in the wider list. What else did I/we pick up?
The Trouble with Peace
The Devil's Blade
Fools
The Centauri Device
Thomas the Rhymer
Fevre Dream
Fairyland
China Mountain Zhang
Raising the Stones
The Sunken Land Begins to Rise
World Engines: Destroyer
Orfeia
Episodes
Shadows of the Short Days
3 were Paul's purchases, but most were mine. Quite a lot we already had; and one thing I noticed was that when I initially looked yesterday, not all were reduced to 99p. Some - like Fevre Dream & Thomas the Rhymer weren't reduced until this morning.

>3 pgmcc:
Yep Purgatory Mount is a very recently published book. I read in in hardcover very recently.
>4 Maddz:
I can recommend the War of the Maps by Paul McAuley.
I bought some other stuff I didn't have, but I also got the ebook edition of Ash as it will be easier to handle a reread of that on the kindle rather than a 1120 page paperback.

I've read most of the books on the Gollanczfest page, and the more recent ones don't interest me at all - except for perhaps War of the Maps, which I already have. I did buy a copy of The Centauri Device as it's been a long time since I last read it.
On the longer list of reduced titles, I bought Purgatory Mount. I read On earlier this year and did not like it at all.
ETA - the science fiction only, not interested in fantasy. And I have The Sunken Land Begins to Rise Again in hardback already.

Fairyland we have in paperback, but in the interests of (eventually) reducing the number of physical books in the house, I decided to get it. The paperback is currently in the bookcase behind my desk. When we get the boxes of books out, it'll go in the charity pile.
Must remember to check prices again tomorrow morning...

>8 Sakerfalcon: Haha - with great restraint I managed to restrict myself to 10 new. BTW, if you haven't read it China Mountain Zhang is excellent - well worth a look.

>9 SChant: I have read it and agree with you. A great book. I also enjoyed Mission child and Half the day is night.
