I think this book is from the 1990's, I loved it so much and gave it away of course.
It was something like this: what would your life have been like if there was a place for you, a place among women? and there were different life events, like, what it would have been like for you if as a girl experiencing menarche you went out to lunch with your mother and her friends and they celebrated you and your place in the community, and something about her dad buying her earrings or something to mark the moment. It was just a beautiful, affirming and inclusive look at experiencing normal life events? (very different than in our culture for the most part) I'd love to share with my daughter.
