YA novel with abusive father and quiet/mute daughter

I'm looking for a YA novel told from the perspective of a girl whose father has abused/is abusing her written in the 1980s/1990s (maybe early 2000s, but didn't think it was that late). From memory, the girl doesn't speak to many people and she has some scars (although I may be conflating two books). I tried searching Google and found both Chris Crutcher's Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes and John Marsden's So Much to Tell You, but neither of them was the one I was thinking of. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Scars by Anne Bailey? It's a pretty nasty book.
