Review of private accounts are public if the book was an LR book.

I think that reviews of private accounts show up publicly if the book they are attached to was an LibraryThing Early Review book.

However reviews for private accounts are promised to stay private, so this looks like a bug to me.

For those who weren't following the other thread, I want to clarify that the situation here is of a book that was offered as an ER book but the (private) reviewer did not receive an ER copy. Reviews of books received through ER, even in private libraries, are public by design (though the review might just say "private member" rather than having the name attached, I don't recall). This is not that situation.

Hi Tim! I've scoured the threads and not sure if here is the correct place to inquiry....to clarify:

I have a public profile and I am an LT Early Reviewer.
I received an ER book and marked the book as "private".
Will others see my ER review on a privately owned book and / or will I get credit for the review?

I wish I had a link to share with you about the "private" checkbox on work pages, but none of the topics are coming up for in a search at the moment. It's just one of those issues I remember from when I tried to use the feature a while back.

The good news is you will receive credit in the ER program for your review (assuming it meets the minimum word count).

Sidenote: As this is a different issue than non-ER private reviews for books offered in the ER program showing up as public, I'm closing the thread again for tidiness.
