fdholt mentioned being suspicious of author Cat Ellington (https://www.librarything.com/profile/CatEllington) and author Joseph Strickland (https://www.librarything.com/profile/JosephStrickland)

I've just been down a rabbit hole which started with the (5 star) reviews of this authors most popular book.
To cut to the chase, I've found reviewers whose reviews are mostly/almost exclusively 5 star reviews of (I think) self-published books with very few copies:
https://www.librarything.com/profile_reviews.php?view=OanaMatei
https://www.librarything.com/profile_reviews.php?view=claudiaeugenie.laube
https://www.librarything.com/profile_reviews.php?view=AllyMcMahon
There's at least some overlap. I suspect more are out there.
Am I being overly suspicious? Might someone have sold 5 star reviews to authors? What should be done about this if anything?
I've just noticed that the reviews are all a few years old fwiw.

'Buy what I'm Selling links' on profiles are generally allowed.
Schools are allowed to have links to the school website. Businesses are allowed to have the business website.
Churches are allowed to have church related websites.
As long as they are just 'selling' the Koran, I don't see a problem.
Profiles with no books aren't going to get many views, anyway.
