Hello SK fans!
I read 11/22/63 and absolutely loved it.The phrase, "Life Turns on a Dime," stuck in my head for months!
I love his writing BUT I am NOT a fan of horror stories. Are there any other books of his that are not horror stories that you would recommend?
Thank you!

His book, Different Seasons has 4 novellas, ie regular books by most authors. Two of the stories are not horror at all - Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, and The Body (the movie Stand By Me was based on). Both are great stories and I can't remember anything horror- like in them. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong - I may be not remembering something. The other two stories however are horror. Don't read them.

The Eyes of the Dragon and The Dark Tower series are both unscary enough for me to read, and I like them both. I am a fraidy-cat myself, so that's what I'd recommend. Oh, and On Writing.

The Dark Tower series is great, and while it might have a scary moments here or there, it is more fantasy than anything.
Something I haven't seen anyone mention are the crime novels King has written for Hard Case Crime. Those are Joyland and The Colorado Kid.

I think the Mr. Mercedes trilogy is more crime driven than horror, but there are a few horror scenes in it.

I would also recommend Dolores Claiborne.

Thank you, >6 Dr_Flanders: >7 Eastonorfolio: and >8 PaperbackPirate: ! I just reread 11/22/63, so I will check out the other ones. Also was inspired to read Time and Again by Jack Finney, since King said it was the best time travel story ever written.
