Bought 3 books (can you tell I got my tax refund?) and brought home two ARCs.

I bought:
* A Woman of No Importance: The Untold Story of the American Spy Who Helped Win World War II by Sonia Purnell
* Who Slays the Wicked by C.S. Harris (book 14 in the Sebastian St. Cyr historical mystery series)
* Washington Black by Esi Edugyan (historical fiction, newly out in paperback)

And I brought home:
* The Pursuits of Lord Kit Cavanaugh by Stephanie Laurens (pub 4/19; historical romance)
* Turbulence by David Szalay (pub 7/19; contemporary fiction, a look at the interconnectedness of humans)

A bunch of new ARCs showed up. I took home an older one that had been sitting for a while: I Miss You When I Blink: Essays by Mary Laura Philpott.

I've been doing my best to ignore the existence of my tax refund, but I saw a couple of books that might break me down.... They are:
* D-Day Girls by Sarah Rose (nonfiction, got at least one starred review)
* Madame Fourcade's War by Lynne Olson (more nonfiction)

Is it just me, or does it seem like WWII's EVERYWHERE these days in fiction and nonfiction? And especially women and spies and women spies.

April ends with one ARC and 3 purchases. The ARC is a teen novel due to be published in May: _Hope and Other Punch Lines_ by Julie Buxbaum.

One purchase was the Mueller Report. I first brought home the one with the "introduction" by Dershowitz, but after reading the bias in his words I returned the book and bought the one from the Washington Post.

I also did buy D-Day Girls, which has a yummy bibliography that includes a section of primary sources.

And I was presented with a copy of Twice Tempted by Eileen Dreyer that had a personalized autograph, so ended up buying that, too.
