Hello all,
Since we just settled on authors for the spring, let's start looking ahead to authors for the summer ... not that I'm trying to hurry winter away already or anything ;)
Please nominate as many authors as you want by adding them to this thread by June 1. Feel free to second anyone's nominations as well.
Remember that previous authors within the last two years are not up for nomination again. Here is a list of the previous authors for your reference: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/Monthly_Author_Reads
I'll pick the July-Sept authors from the nominees, with a preference for any that get seconds so be sure to second any nominees that sound interesting to you.

These two authors each got a nomination and a second last time so I'm including them here again for your consideration:

Neil Gaiman

>3 BookConcierge: Sure, I'll second Peter Mayle. I don't think we've discussed his works in this group before (at least not in recent years at any rate), and I wouldn't mind picking up some titles I haven't read yet.

I've never read anything by Peter Mayle so I'd vote for him, too.
I recently picked up a book by Marisha Pessl, about whom I've heard good things. But, she's only written 3 novels, so if people think that's too few, I won't be offended if there are no seconds :)

I'll also nominate Tana French. I haven't read anything by her, either, but hear good things.

Okay, I know I said June 1st would be the end of nominations but we don't have many here and since I myself was away for a while and therefore didn't put up reminders, I'm going to give it 2 extra days. Please feel to nominate or second any authors by June 7. If not, I'll choose from the list above and will entertain no complaints! ;)

I'll second Barbara Kingsolver. I'm pretty sure I have one of her books floating around my house somewhere waiting to be read.
