Getting the new month started.
Still reading The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction January/February 2018.

Still reading about Legends: Tales from the Eternal Archives.
4Narilka
I'm heading into the Wyld with Bloody Rose and her band.

Finished The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction January/February 2018 edited by C. C. Finlay. More good than not.
6Cecrow
Finished up An Ambush of Shadows, which clearly indicates for the first time how this Pelbar Cycle series is aiming to end. Looking forward to the last two books.

Canada. I hadn't read Tanya Huff before, but I intend to remedy that. I've moved from Calgary to Cape Breton Island, following the Gale family's exploits in the second of the Enchantment Emporium series, The Wild Ways.
It's refreshing to spend time in the bracing north. I'm learning geography as well as spending time with an intriguing clan.

Taking a deep breath and jumping into Fool's Assassin. Took me a while to feel "ready" to take on the series. These characters are so dear to me, and I know I can count on Hobb to put them through the ringer one more time.
9Sakerfalcon
I'm in L'Empire Celeste with an Alchemy of masques and mirrors.
10Kiddboyblue
Back in the Wyld, with the release of Bloody Rose by Nicholas Eames. So excited for this installment!
11Jarandel
I'm in Blackeberg, near Stockholm in Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

>8 Niko: Niko Oh yes, Hobb makes her characters suffer again. But I wouldn't have missed any of it for the world. I bawled at the end but it was cathartic crying.
14Zambaco
I've just left mediaeval Moscow and The Girl in the Tower.
15Jim53
I picked up The Fall of Gondolin at the library and am just starting to look at it.
16humouress
I'm still in Eileanan at The Pool of Two Moons.
Though I have just finished a sojourn in Singapore with Singaporean Chinese who are Crazy Rich Asians; so fabulously wealthy that they can get Google Earth to erase satellite images of their properties. Counts as fantasy for me!

It's off to the Discworld with the Thief of Time.

Add a re-read of The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay to my reading rotation.
19Jim53
>18 seitherin: One of my all-time favorite books.
My current read isn't great for bedtime, so as I retire I'm visiting Earthsea and The Farthest Shore for the nth time.

>19 Jim53: I read it the first time almost exactly 20 years ago. Pure coincidence that I chose to re-read it now.
And I finished one of my other rotation books so I'm adding in The Stone Sky by N. K. Jemisin.

21Narilka
Heading back to the land of Eretz for Dreams of Gods and Monsters.
22humouress
About to embark for Bingtown in the Ship of Magic.
23drmamm
On the home stretch with Wheel of Time. The Gathering Storm, which is the first of the Brandon Sanderson books. I also learned in the forward that Robert Jordan only planned for one more book beyond Knife of Dreams, but there was so much material that Sanderson had to split it into three books.
24humouress
>23 drmamm: Well, the original series (of twelve) was supposed to be a trilogy ...
25Cecrow
>23 drmamm:, yup, it was a big uproar when Sanderson chose to do that. He explained himself at length on his web site and it was interesting reading, both at the time and now: https://brandonsanderson.com/splitting-amol/

In some sort of pseudo-Germany (or at least they use German words a lot... not much particularly German about the setting otherwise that I've noticed) planning a heist in It Takes a Thief to Start a Fire.
27mattries37315
I just finished Red Rising by Pierce Brown, but I won't be returning to dystopian Mars in the future at least his version of it.
29guido47
I bought the The Shepard's Crown quite a while ago.
I keep putting off reading it 'cos i KNOW THAT Granny dies and Terry won't be writing any more books :-(
And...and...I have been reading him from the start, where I first just thought he was just an average fantasy writer!
So I have just started reading it...s.l.o.w.l.e.y
Hey great news. I can re-read all 43 novels again :-)

30Narilka
I'm in Ravka with Shadow and Bone.
31Sakerfalcon
I'm in an alternate Venice under The shadow of the lion.
32rshart3
I'm starting my third read of Dorothy Dunnett's wonderful, historic, epic Lymond Chronicles, with the first book Game of Kings. I mention it here because the set has many of the characteristics of an epic fantasy series, without the magic. Many members of this group would enjoy them.
33Cecrow
>32 rshart3:, not in my TBR pile yet, but that series has been on my radar for a while. For similar reasons and same status, Maurice Druon's The Iron King.
34Niko
Yes, I've always heard that about the Lymond Chronicles being a good read for fantasy fans. I downloaded a Kindle sample of the first book once and it seemed a rather dense read, but it's still in my "secondary" TBR pile beyond that.
My current read:
Just started Magic Mirrors, a collection of John Bellairs' works that were written for adults. I've read The Face in the Frost and The Pedant and the Shuffly before, and have had them on my "due for a reread" list for a while, plus I'm looking forward to checking out "St. Fidgeta and Other Parodies" and "The Dolphin Cross", his unfinished sequel to Face in the Frost.

Finished The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay. Still a favorite.
36JP000
Starting The Silmarillion, with some trepidation. It has been sitting on my bookshelf unread for many years.
37Cecrow
>36 JP000:. Tor.com is doing a good series on that, sort of a read-along: https://www.tor.com/series/the-silmarillion-primer/
38Narilka
Time to try and finish off the Demon Cycle. I'm picking back up with The Skull Throne.
39tottman
I'm in Ellingburg with Thomas Piety and the Pious Men in Priest of Bones by Peter McLean.
40JP000
>37 Cecrow:: That's just what I need. Hopefully it will save me a lot of the back and forward to the index that I'm already doing.
41seitherin
Finished The Stone Sky by N. K. Jemisin. A satisfying end to the trilogy.
