Happy Solstice!
Thought some of you might be interested in the news that the first issue of our Decadence journal, Volupté, has been published today. You can read the first issue, 'Arthur Symons at the Fin de Siècle', here: https://volupte.gold.ac.uk
Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you very much; that article on Bliss Carman provided some very necessary education on things Canadian. Wish I'd known that when I came across his first editions in the past...

Is this the fruit of the call for papers I once again failed to respond to that Goldsmith's had up with a deadline of March 2018: "Decadence and Occultism?" Maybe not... would be a quick turn-round for a full issue.
Canadian decadents... I have been meaning to read John Glassco's memoirs (he's the fellow who "finished" Beardsley's novel back in the 1960s or 70s).

Glassco is another sad miss of mine. I read and liked his memoirs but didn't bother looking at his poetry and it's not something you run into every day... Oh well, back to vulture-like vigilance over bookshop bins.

I wish there were still bookshops in which to hope for finds. Have you read Émile Nelligan? I'd like to find some biographical data beyond Wikipedia.

As it happens, I picked up a volume of his collected poems recently but know next to nothing about him. I'm only now developing an interest in Canadian literature--took me long enough...

>8 Siderealpress: Those dates, for those who may, are: July 19-20, 2018.
I'd love to go - but can't seem to get my rider on board. Perhaps I'll have a Sam Smith's and sit in my library of a rainy day and pretend.
I read this and still feel as slack as I did in February:
