Those good folks at the top listen to us.
A new feature is present (unannounced) - "An injustice committed" green flag it - seems to counteract the misplaced blue flags!
Have a look on your (any) blue flagged reviews and see!
Hurray!
Not sure it's working with IE but maybe there's server lag.

Well, I'm not sure it's appropriate for people to be able to unflag their own reviews, just as they can't "unflag" inappropriately uploaded images.
I can just see the "flag/unflag/flag/unflag" wars beginning.
Perhaps only other people should be able to unflag?

Or, like uploaded images, a user can flag and unflag each review only once.

I hope people will now remember and undo any "sympathy thumbs" they gave to blue-flagged reviews just to cancel out the negative effect.

There is no way that people will remember and undo their sympathy thumbs. Do you keep a record of what you thumbed or flagged and why?

Can we really unflag our own reviews? If so, it is absurd to give us that power.

5 > yes we can unflag our own. I tried on one of mine, however the resulting 'Unflagged' review does not sort in the correct place when sorting by 'thumbs'.

And if it gets forbidden, we can agree to unflag each others', so the system is still subvertible :)

I don't keep a record, but I can tell you exactly why I thumbed everything I've thumbed: because I thought it was good or useful, not because I was deliberately misusing the system.
I'm hoping eventually we can have a way to list all the reviews we've thumbed; as well as being useful for undoing misplaced thumbs, it would be nice in general to be able to see the reviews we like.

7 > personally 4 of the 5 reviews of mine that got flagged I completely disagree with the flag (The last is debatable, but what do you say of Grey's Anatomy?) However I would prefer a second opinion of someone else removing my flags.
it seems that some adjustments have been made to the sorting but it still seems a little off. I have 2 reviews with 2 thumbs that had the flag removed and when sorting by flags now sort after the single flags. Better than at the bottom but I would expect them to show up before the 2 thumbs with a flag.

readadew, I just removed the flags from the two reviews you linked in a former post (Foucault's Pendulum and Frankenstein). While brief, both were clearly reviews and should never have been flagged.
Perhaps (as I just did this a few minutes ago) sort order is yet another caching issue and it may take the server a while to work through the new status of reviews.

I have green-flagged a few reviews that were unjustly flagged as violations of terms of service and it didn't appear to do anything to the red flags. There is a disclaimer that says that Tim & Co. reserve the right to do what they will with the green flag data, so I'm thinking that, at least with TOS violations (red flags), the green flag does not automatically go away. I haven't tried it on any blue flagged items though.
Thanks so much, LT, for adding this feature! One member in particular, who writes great reviews, has been repeatedly red-flagged unfairly (he is the copyright holder and is re-posting them here and citing all the correct info but still getting red flagged...), so I am glad that now I can at least register a protest vote.
