Fascinating. Arcturus is sui generis--that may be why Lewis, whose own "space trilogy" (only one of whose books really involves science fiction, the other extraterrestrial book being more of a theological allegory/parable, with the third book being a conventional Earthbound conspiracy thriller) is also utterly unique, was drawn to it.
