Following on from the other thread here, that suggested that only about 2% of books (in the UK) are translated, I just wondered what your percentage is?

Here are my stats:

Out of my entire library of 695 books, 220 are translated (according to my tags at least, I don't seem to have included any of my translated philosophy or politics in that tag). That makes:

31.65% translated.

Of my fiction (444 total, 214 translated):

48.19% translated

According to my stats page, I have works from 25 languages (including English). If there are 6700 (according to http://www.ethnologue.com/) spoken languages, I have a measly:

0.378% of them in my library.

And just to top off this translation fest... my top 5 (again, from the stats page)

(361) English

(105) French

(37) German

(25) Russian

(19) Japanese

Anyone else want to share?

These are interesting statistics :)

I can only rely on my stats page, but it says the following:

total number of books: 1560

Original languages (top 5)
(650) German
(622) English
(58) French
(31) Italian
(23) Spanish

As my native language is german, but 73 of my english books are not translated into german, I have a total of 837 books which are translations. That makes 53,65% .

I've books in (originally) 29 languages, which is 0,433% of the spoken languages.
