Here's a list of new libraries. I need to indicate the best ones as "favorites." Does anyone have an opinion of which of these libraries are likely to be very useful?

Biblioteca Pública de Avila
Biblioteca Pública de Burgos
Biblioteca Pública de Palencia
Biblioteca Pública de Salamanca
Biblioteca Pública de Segovia
Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes

Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Universidad de Burgos
Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED)
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
Universidad Pública de Navarra
These will go live Monday!

Oh, should any of these be cross-listed under Catalan?

I'm going to have lunch now, but I'll give you some advice as soon as I come back. Read you later.

I've teamed up with javierren and we have checked the libraries you suggested. Here are our results considering our tastes:
(*****) Best University: Universidad Complutense de Madrid
Its collection contains dozens of works of each genre and author we checked
for.
(*****) Best Public Library: Biblioteca Publica de Burgos
Its collection contains "TONS" of works of each genre and author we checked
for.
(*) Biblioteca Foral de Bizkaia
This one will probably be a good choice for Euskera (Basque).

Oh, good. I didn't realize Bizkaia was Basque, although, looking at the word, obviously it is. That'll be a good, since we have a Basque translation of LibraryThing too. In general, the smaller the language-community, the more passion we've excited. Too bad there are so many Spanish speakers? :)
I'm going in and giving you guys all those libraries right now. I'll release them publicly on Monday.

I went in and gave you the libraries manually—sorry to make your list so long. Clear off the ones you don't want!

That's great ! Thanks for all. Unfortunately it seems my partner is asleep right now since he's not returning my phonecalls. How unfortunate for him not to be able to enjoy this privilege.

Ohhhh... all those libraries, and not one of them(*) from my neck of the woods! :( (Latin America, that is, I'd be dreaming BIG if you actually had one from Panama, it'll be a few centuries before we're that high profile).
(*)Well, there's at least one from L.A.:
Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey ==> the ITESM is a very prestigious university, so I do think their library is a biggie.
But all the others are from Spain... non?

Yeah, it's not intentional. We looked for them all over. We had one from Venezuela and another from Colombia, but both have problems. Having a z39.50 connection is something that some countries favor and some don't. For example, we have like 25 Danish libraries and only two or three German ones. I think it's about how the country does copy-cataloging between national libraries.

The only ones on this list I've heard of are the Biblioteca Virtual Cervantes, el Tec de Monterrey and Complutense in Madrid, but that's not necessarily saying much. It seems that a lot of the books I have had to enter manually are, according to WorldCat, at the Colegio de México. Though if we could just use WorldCat directly to add books, that would be even better. :-)
