The Metropolitan Museum of Art makes its Images of Public-Domain Artworks Freely Available through New Open Access Policy

More than 400,000 high-resolution digital images of public domain works in the Museum’s world-renowned collection may be downloaded directly from the Museum’s website. Originally intended for non-commercial use only, the new policy (announced Feb. 7, 2017) makes all images of public-domain artworks in the Museum's collection available for free and unrestricted use.
