The announcement of the winner of this year's Man Booker Prize will take place this coming Tuesday, October 25th. This is your chance to vote on the book that you think should, or will, win. I'm currently at a conference in San Francisco and probably won't be able to provide a final tally in advance of the ceremony, but it should be interesting to see if we agree with the judges.

If you haven't finished the entire shortlist, please indicate which books you haven't read with an asterisk in front of the title. I hope to finish Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Tuesday, but it will probably be after the announcement. I've read the other five books, so this is my rank order:

1. *Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien
2. His Bloody Project by Graeme Macrae Burnet
3. All That Man Is by David Szalay
4. The Sellout by Paul Beatty
5. Hot Milk by Deborah Levy
6. Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh

Man Booker Prize: Paul Beatty becomes first US winner for The Sellout. His novel tells the story of a young black man who tries to reinstate slavery and racial segregation in a suburb of Los Angeles.
