Do any of you have a favorite congregational or "sisterhood" cookbook? What do you like about it? Are there any special recipes/ideas worth sharing? Ashkenazi v. Sephardic?

Well, technically one of the recepies in my book is from NU whats cooking? pur out over 30 years ago by the sisterhood of Congregation "Tifereth Israel" in Glen cove NY. I made some modifications to make it more wholesom so it could enter my healthy cookbook. BTW my book is called תזונה בריאה וטעימה (Wholesom and tasty nutrition - in Hebrew).
I'm currently working on translating it into English.
When I get to this recipe I'll post it...

Early Jewish charity books date from 1888 to raise funds for reform temples . Until world war one, they were "trefe", many of which included chapters on shellfish. In most cases, pork, however, was eschewed.

I love the chosen appetizers and desserts by marilyn stone, a compendium of the best recipes from sisterhood cookbooks. I love the coffeecake and torten recipes, and they are not too difficult.
