Good morning, flaggers.
In a case like this:
https://www.librarything.com/pic/227823
https://www.librarything.com/pic/4303326
should one of these be flagged as a duplicate, since they are basically the same image, just a different crop? I'm happy to leave it alone, but I was curious.

A similar case (and I'm not sure if these count as author photos anyway? ... apparently it's a pseudonym of two authors):

I should have made the title of this thread more general. Here's a case of same photo, different quality (as well as metadata, of course):
https://www.librarything.com/pic/235781
https://www.librarything.com/pic/3374684
Adding some more cases here instead of adding new messages:
https://www.librarything.com/pic/256562 (much lower quality but at least includes the copyright albeit in impossibly tiny text)
https://www.librarything.com/pic/279260
https://www.librarything.com/gallery/author/lawrencepaul-1 (one of these is already flagged as duplicate, but I imagine the other could/should be flagged as triplicate?)
https://www.librarything.com/pic/270576

https://www.librarything.com/pic/3510584
https://www.librarything.com/pic/134351
https://www.librarything.com/pic/164589
Also, should this be flagged? https://www.librarything.com/pic/279009
And what, if anything, to do about something like https://www.librarything.com/pic/4391604 ?
https://www.librarything.com/pic/4761673 (it looks like they might have removed the promotional info?)

RE: >2 omargosh:
Those aren't an image of the author. I'd flag them.
As to photos with promotional/biographical material, I generally leave the uploaded a comment directing them to the "What Information Goes in the Credit/Copyright Fields" of the "Contributing Photos to LibraryThing" wiki page. If they don't edit within a day or two, I'll flag and re-upload the image without that material.
