Any suggestions for great audiobooks for preschoolers to second grade?

So far the young readers have enjoyed Storming the Castle, How to Train a Dragon series, Octavia Spencer's Ninja series, and Pinkalicious. Bonus points for books by authors of color, featuring strong characters of color and/or diversity (LGQBT, special needs, etc.), series -- doesn't have to be all in one book.

We use Overdrive library download and CDs from the library if that makes a difference. Thanks for your suggestions!

Is that touchstone right for Storming the Castle?

My kids both love audio books, but thinking it through none of their favorites will get bonus points, and it's hard to know what your library will have. At anyrate:

Anything by Jim Weiss - he has one of the most marvelous storytelling styles and my kids both adore his CDs. He does everything from silly stories to fairy tales to Sherlock Holmes to narrated history. Unfortunately, where I live, none of it is available at the library.

There are audio versions of Mary Pope Osbourne's The Magic Tree House series books that my kids loved. I think those would span your age range. Also Ron Roy's A to Z Mystery series are fun.

Some of the "Who was" biographies are available on CD - for example Who was Jackie Robinson?. With those you may want to prescreen a bit for the younger end of your audience - the content level varies with the life of the person.

Chester's Way is great. I'm not sure if any other Kevin Henkes mouse books are available on CD or not, but they are all pretty good.

My children also love the Little House on the Prairie series on CD, which we've been able to get at our library.

"Bless this Mouse" is sweet and funny, but set in a church if that is an issue.
