Not sure how to send a pm, but I'm interested in what you're asking for Night and Tom Sawyer...

Updated! So, I hate to part with many of these. Although perhaps I should take Thoreau's advice "Simplify, simplify, simplify". Then again, maybe I'll just purchase and read other EP books :P
5astropi
Not an EP book, but I also have the FS LE of Goya: Disasters of War

>7 astropi: I would be interested in the Three Musketeers DLE if you have it, though my current items for sale might not interest you.

Updated -a bunch of stuff has been sold. Some great books still left, waiting for a good home.

I updated post #1. Most of my EP books have sold. For those that want some beautiful letterpress, I have some LEC books for trade/sale as well. Please see this post:

I'll give you a sealed version of the new Dantes Inferno DLE for your Divine Comedy
16astropi
All, just a heads-up that I still have the Divine Comedy for sale/trade. Price-wise, I'll sell it for hundreds less than you'll find anywhere else (just because I love you all :)
I have a few others books as well, see post #1
https://www.librarything.com/topic/193216#5211989
I haven't actively tried selling my Divine Comedy, but now that I've trudged through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise, I'm ready to pass this on to someone else who will enjoy it (Dore!)

Divine Comedy... sold, at a laughable (see what I did there?) price :)
Truly though, I really did sell it at a fantastic price.

Fantastic for you, or the buyer? ;-) N.B. - I'm still smarting over having sold this to a fellow forum member a year ago, before it took off in interest and price $$$
19astropi
18: I made some money, but certainly not as much as I could have, but that's fine. I'm glad it went to a happy home :)

Astropi, are you in the process of liquidating your entire EP DLE library?
During the past year, i have also sold off all of my DLE books, mostly because of EP's overprinting and saturating of the market (which is a very small market already)..
On the other side, I am keeping and still adding more to my non-DLE library, haven't counted them for a while, but probably have over 900 or so of them.
If you are also selling off any of those old masterpieces of science fiction books, I might be interested in getting some of them.

20: My attitude for books is this: "Have I gotten what enjoyment and knowledge I can out of you? Will I read you again?" and so if I feel it is time then the book and I, be it a DLE or otherwise, part ways.
I do have some Masterpieces of Science Fiction left. Although most of what I have are signed, and frankly a number of those you can find for cheap on ebay. I strongly suggest you acquire the following signed editions "Gateway", "The Left Hand of Darkness", "Slan", and of course the signed "The Foundation Trilogy" is not cheap, but arguably the gem of all the MoSF. Gateway and Slan I think you can find for fairly cheap. Left Hand of Darkness used to be cheap as well, don't know if that's still the case. Also, there are some EP signed first editions of science fiction which are NOT the same as the MoSF but absolutely worth getting.
Side Note: My current WANT list is the following (signed editions):
Band of Brothers
Lonesome Dove
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
If anyone has anything from my want list for trade, let me know, and maybe we can trade :)

I've seen that sealed set of Lonesome Dove come up for sale off and on on evil bay for like $900 or something close to that. Dude's been trying to get that price for a couple years lol. I'd love to have that set too. It would look great next to my Zane Grey set 🤓
23GOBOGIE
Dis you bid on the recent Band of Brothers that went up on eBay recently. It sold for just over $300, which in my opinion was a steal... Although he never posted clear pictures so it could have had issues. If they don't post clear pictures on high dollars books, there is almost always a reason 😉😉
24astropi
22: evil bay, ha! I have to say I have sold and purchased many an item, so I can't say it's all that bad :P
Yeah, you have to deal with people, and people are not at the top of my list of great creatures, but overall it's fine if you're a bit careful and read descriptions carefully. Anyway, I would gladly trade well for any of the three books above, including trading DLEs (I think all the DLEs I have left are OOP :O
23: No, I didn't even see it. Yeah, unclear pics is definitely suspect :/

Yeah, I don't know what's worse: Someone posting poor quality pictures to hide defects or someone too lazy or indifferent about the process to care about what they're doing. In either case you often end up with a damaged book.

>27 treereader: I even sent him a PM and told him his pictures weren't good (as the book was not doing well on the bidding side & was looking like he was going to do poorly on the sale) and that collectors with the finances to buy said book and pay extra for a pristine copy, wouldn't bid on his listing without better pictures... No reply!
Pretty much confirmed it had issues, but I guess you never know.

Some eBay sellers (hopefully it's just a small percentage) really live in their own little world. There was a book listed that I wanted and the only photo was that of the white shipping box. Allegedly, he hadn't even opened the box and tried claiming that the value of the book would diminish if he opened it to take pictures of the book. This group is pretty discerning but I don't think any of us here collect sealed shipping boxes that may or may not contain (A) a book, (B) the book of interest, (C) said book still sealed in shrink wrap, and (D) said sealed book in perfect condition. In other words, there was no way for the seller, let alone any buyer, to guarantee or trust that he was actually selling the title of interest. Crazy.

I know ebay does cover the buyer. So, if you purchase a book and all you get is an empty shipping box or the wrong book, you are protected from fraud. On the other hand, it also depends on what and how the seller advertises. I certainly would be leery of any auction without clear pictures.
31iluvbeckett
>29 treereader:: As an aside, I keep my DLEs in their shipping boxes, if practicable. I remove the shrinkwrap, because I want to inspect them and also for the old-fashioned reason that I want to read them (carefully!), unless they are so large or cumbersome to handle (e.g., Ovid) that just holding them would outweigh the pleasure of reading them.

But that's still quite different than not even opening the box to verify that the book is the one you think it is. And it sounds like, if a suitable alternative for storing and displaying your DLEs safely were presented to you, you might consider ditching the shipping boxes, no?
> 30
I thought of that at the time but the potential for going through the hassle of invoking that guarantee was too great for me. I could just imagine eBay chiding me, too: "You should've known better than to buy that unphotographed box of blank paper!".
