For no discernible (by me) reason, I have hopped from Plutarch to Pliny. Now tumbling through the extended table of contents that is volume 1 of the Natural History.

I recently read Pliny's the younger letters in the folio society edition, and liked them very much, especially letters that describes the death of his uncle Pliny Elder.
