I'm thinking of a word that rhymes with "tomboy."

A kind of weight-measurement, or a West Asian ancient power that was defeated by the Danaans/Achaeans/Argives*?
*Or as modern translators call them
"the Greeks". (Homer didnʻt ever use the word "Greece" or the word
Greeks".)

The old question "Does it have to be a rhyme of
BOTH syllables?" comes up here
because the "tom-" rhyme is
hard to work in.
Assuming the answer is "no" for this one (as it has been for most) Iʻll ask
"Is it what Wordsworth and later C. S. Lewis were ʻsurprised byʻ ?

>4 louminus: Not a bad idea, although perhaps unnecessary with this truckload of guesses that have arrived this morning.
>5 rolandperkins: Crambo's word does contain two syllables that both rhyme pretty well with "tomboy."
Hint that will probably be of no help whatsoever: I thought of this word because I saw what looked like one while traveling in Virginia the weekend before last (The location is not significant.) It reminded me of a song from about forty years ago. There was, however, no bear in the air.
Not Troy, employ, joy.

". . .looked like one . . . . .a song from about 40 years ago.
A very forgettable song of about 75 years ago featured a "__ __ __ __"*
which rhymes with "-boy".
But I donʻt know what a __ __ __ __ looks like.
*specifically: Flat foot Floogie with a __ __ __ __,
__ __ __ __

I never knew what a floy floy was either, although I think I read somewhere that it suggested that the, um, young lady of the title had something that you didn't want to catch.

Does Crambo's word include 11 long-haired friends of Jesus in a chartreuse microbus?

>9 Jenni_Canuck: Hee hee. 10-4, good neighbor. While driving home along route 95 last Monday we saw a collection of RVs and trucks that were moving as a group and looked like a convoy. Fortunately Ernest Borgnine wasn't there trying to slow them down.
Well done, Jenni, and over to you, come on...
