I'm starting to get into Three Day Road. I didn't like it at first, but I think it might turn out to be pretty good.

4: That is good to hear. After reading The Orenda I have two Joseph Boyden sitting on my shelf that I am a little scared to pick up and read.

#5 - I was feeling exactly the same way! I'm only reading this now because it's my book club's choice, and well, I did spend money on it a few years ago. At first I thought "oh, here we go, this is too much like The Orenda" but then it got more into the WWI stuff and now I don't feel like I'm rereading The Orenda.

I'm reading Party of One: Stephen Harper and Canada's Radical Makeover by Michael Harris.

Finished the hundred foot journey which was fun and quite different from the movie. I just picked up the Narrow Road to the Deep North from the library so that us up next.

Finally finished listening to the audiobook of Y, by Margorie Celona. It's been a long time since I've read a book I disliked this much--really horrible writing style. Shudder.

What the Deaf-Mute Heard by G.D. Gearino has finally made it from the wish list to the TBR shelves to my currently reading. As I entered it on LT, I noticed it's been made into a movie...which I'd never heard of!

A nice light read for this weekend: Sunshine on Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith.

Finally finished Three Day Road, which was well written but not enjoyable. I haven't done too well with CanLit lately!

Hope I fare better that Nickelini with my latest Canadian novel: Studio Saint-Ex by Ania Szado, which I'm about to start.

I finished The Narrow Road to the Deep North a couple of days ago. It took a while to get into it and I was not a fan of some of the romance that was just not needed in this book. Sections set in Burma and the last third of the book were masterfully done. The whole thing is rather shocking but given the subject matter it would be hard to have it any other way.
I am now splitting my time between all sorts of odd books from Robinson Crusoe to Eating Dirt and The Complete Sherlock Holmes to World War Z. I feel I need to clear up one or two before I start anything new.

I'm a big Rebus fan, but don't usually enjoy the short story genre. However, I loved this complete collection of Rebus short stories: The Beat Goes On by Ian Rankin

I'm enjoying Web of Angels by Lilian Nattel
25Nickelini
I'm reading the Booker nominated novel Scar Tissue by Michael Ignatieff. Yes, that Michael Ignatieff.
