Welcome and happy reading!

Wow! I returned to this thread to add my first completed book and was surprised to find some welcome and good luck messages. What a friendly group! Thank you everyone.
I finished my first book from the shelf - The Learning Curve
It was a sweet little book with a very unrealistic ending. So one down, 24 more to go. It was very sad to read in the dedication that the author was dying and that the book would be published posthumously, especially as this wasn't the first book I have read by her.

ROOT Number 2...took a little longer than planned because I was busy with a few other things but better late than never.
Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother I really liked this book so I am glad that I found it and read it. :)

Eesti, I've heard that the Tiger Mother is fairly controversial, so I'm glad that you enjoyed the read!

Your message here saddened me. Authors who have struck a chord with us kind of become a teeny bit of our family make-up and it is always sad to lose one.
Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother sounds very interesting and I found the reviews on the book page to be of interest.
Congrats on your January & best of luck in February!

I've read a few books in-between this and the last but I need to dig out the names. This one is sitting here on my desk so I am going to add it now. Finished California Dreamers this morning. It was nothing special but a cute little read with a slightly different ending to the one I was expecting.

Thanks Caramellunacy! I had heard about that too so had avoided it but finally decided to pick it up and have a go. Glad I did. :)

I have finished a few others but I need to re-find them. But I did just finish these: The Calligrapher's Daughter and The Prosperous Thief.

And another one removed from the shelves: The Chapel at the Edge of the World.

Finished Living la Vida Loca this evening.

And another one off the shelf... Hitler's Angel - interesting, intriguing, and worth reading.

Haha! Thanks connie53. I do feel a bit like I am back in the reading mood, which is a great feeling!
