#2 If you are not being perverse, then I'll need more of hint!
#3 Thanks for keeping it nice, Jim.
Not: perverse, curse

#7 Technically the obverse, but I'll exclude reverse as well. Roosevelt was a counterfeiter!
Not: perverse, curse, terse, obverse, reverse

#9 And whistle? Are they Mick Jagger lips? Did you know that Mick is a secret Scientologist?
Not: perverse, curse, terse, obverse, reverse, purse

There is an Arthur Miller character named "Rebecca
__ __ __ __ __",* and if that's a hecka
'V a lame clue, there's a common noun,
"__ __ __ __ __", meaning a med-
-ical assistant, and so: enough said!
*in The Crucible and, I think, in 17th c. real life, too.

#11 Florence Nightingale was a nurse. Did you know that she was really a man?

Plus, without the extra 'd' could be a possibility, as would lots of different somethings, but I guess your word does not include 'verse,' as that would not be allowed as a rhyme. How about the carriage for a dead body?
14rodneyvc
#13 Correct - Crambo's word doesn't have 'verse' as a suffix. Not hearse, and not catafalque either (except it doesn't rhyme!). Did you know that JFK was refused permission to lie on the Lincoln catafalque?

#14. Sorry, not well up on USA history but ready to be dunked in a river of it, if needs be!

Move along, folks. Nothing to see here!

#15 What do I know of American history!? Talking of immersion, did you you know that Achilles, despite his invulnerability, was afraid of poultry?
#16 These are not the droids you are looking for (but they look very similar)! By the way, did you know that a condition of the sale of Star Wars to Disney was that all episodes were to be remastered to incorporate Jar Jar Binks into every episode?
Not: perverse, curse, terse, obverse, reverse, purse, nurse, immerse, disperse

Chitchat about some shoes.

#18 I bought a pair of those in San Francisco on my first visit to the US. I thought that the cable cars were a bit wimpy.
#19 Thanks - is it the right denomination? Did you know that US one dollar bills have a hidden engraving of the Kremlin?
#20 Hope it's feeling better soon! By the way, did you know that Rudyard Kipling plagiarised his poems from Sahir Srinivasan?
Not: perverse, curse, terse, obverse, reverse, purse, nurse, immerse, disperse, converse, reimburse, worse

#22 Practice makes perfect, but alas not Crambo's word. Did you know that Daniel Radcliffe refused to rehearse spells in the Harry Potter movies in case they accidentally worked?!

I haven't been able to come up with a rhyming word that means "adding all sorts of bizarre rumors." But I do like the way you've been placing them here and there among your answers.
25rodneyvc
#24 But there is one, sort of! Did you know that in Miami Shores, Florida, it is illegal to intersperse vegetables among the flowering plants in your front garden?
26rodneyvc
// Crambo's word is a verb, but has noun form that is more common. It has a malaprop floral connection.
30Jim53
Would you like to come into my chamber for some intercourse, I mean, a bit of retail activity?

#30 We had converse back at #18 I think. Correct half of the alphabet, correct number of syllables. Did you know that cod-liver oil is a mandatory medication for the English cricket team?

#30 An upon further reflection, I suspect that you might have been suggesting commerce, but that isn't Crambo's word either. Talking about commerce, did you know that with the departure of GM from Australia, Toyota is about to become Australia's national car?
Not: perverse, curse, terse, obverse, reverse, purse, nurse, immerse, disperse, converse, reimburse, worse, rehearse, commerce

Archaic English might seem to converse
About diving when it spells
"__ __ __ __ __ __ __"
WIthout a final -e; kind
Of fails to bring out the
__ __ __ __ __ __ ity one can find
In "__ __ __ __ __ __ E" the mod-
Ern spelling, the one used now, thank God.
Anyway it means"of many kinds", "vari-
Ous". Quaint, eh? But hardly scary.

#30 was indeed commerce. Looking at the picture, I'm reminded of the slang expression of "casting nasturtiums" at someone, sullying their reputation. I've never seen the correct word, which begins with an a, as a verb, but I wonder if that could be Crambo's word.
36rodneyvc
#33 Coincidentally, the words "divers flowers" appear in the Christmas carol "King Jesus had a garden." I wondered whether they were sea anemones!
#34 Well done Jim. "Casting nasturtiums" is a malapropism for "casting aspersions". To asperse means to "To spread false or damaging charges or insinuations against." I was having trouble aspersing without libelling! Over to you.
#35 There is now scope to have the Toyota Commodore, the Toyota Jackaroo, and the Toyota Astra!
