I was fortunate to speak recently with author Richard Frank in Chicago on October 23, 2013.
Richard Frank is the author of Guadalcanal: The Definitive Account of the Landmark Battle and Downfall: The End of the Japanese Empire.
Richard Frank informed me that he is continuing work on his three volume history of the Pacific campaign. The first volume will start with the Marco Polo Bridge incident and the third volume will end with the post-war administration of Japan. The tentative publication date of the first volume is 2014 or 2015.

Interesting.A complete journalism/narrative of war campaign in the Asia Pacific region?
To the readers of Second World War History in Pacific, this timeline mentioned in this website will be interesting and informative. Only the American involvement in the Pacific Wars are discussed intensively or all the nations involved especially the British ?

The Marco Polo Bridge incident was a battle between the Republic of China's National Revolutionart Army and the Imperial Japanese Army. This battle is often used as the marker of the Second Sino-Japan War (1937-1945).
The bombing of a naval base,Pearl Harbor,Hawaii on December 7th ,1941 by the Japanese was a start of USA's direct involvement in the Pacific War. Am I right to state this statememt?
Is the series looking solely at American's perspective ?
Almost full list of battles in Pacific War:

No news on this yet, I guess? Amazon doesn't show anything coming that's new by him.
Best Pacific overview I've read so far is probably Toland's The Rising Sun.

I'd be keen to see the result of Frank's work on this, if it comes together. I've been holding up Downfall to people as the definitive account of the end of the war.
