Was John Bunyan reformed?

There are a number of us that own copies of Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. The LORD used a children's version, Pictorial Pilgrim's Progress, published by Moody Press in 1962, to draw me to Jesus Christ. I have The Works of John Bunyan and continue to read this dear man's writing. I would appreciate your thoughts, to what extent was John Bunyan reformed in his thinking. I know that there must be some among you who are better equipped than myself to answer this question. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

This topic was posted, not to infer that Bunyan was not reformed, but rather, to glean your thoughts on the topic. EncompassedRunner encouraged me to purchase the book, John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress: Themes and Issues. I am overjoyed with it. The author, Barry E. Horner, quotes poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge: "Calvinism never put on a less rigid form, never smoothed its brow and softened its voice more winningly than in The Pilgrim's Progress."

John Bunyan was a Baptist. I know that this could generate some discussion, but most older Baptists of his day could be classified as Calvinists, thou most would deny the association. While they would accept a number of points on predestination and election that Calvinists hold to, the church polity and sacrimental aspects of those who would claim Calvin they would object to.

I know this because I was raised Presbyterian but became a Baptist and have done quite a bit of study on the differences over time.

I think he was. After being exposed to Reformed Theology and then starting to read Bunyan, it seems to be on every page. The only area where I would have concerns(at least in Pilgrim's Progress) is his view on the preservation of the saints. There are times in PP where it seems like he's implying the possibility of a true Christian falling away. Calvin(and others) did not teach this. Otherwise, I'd say Bunyan was overwhelmingly reformed.

He believed in TULIP.
